Audio-Technica - Replacement Stylus AT-VMN95SP

Genuine Audio-Technica AT-VMN95SP replacement stylus — a 3.0 mil conical cut for the wide grooves of shellac 78s.

Shellac 78s were cut with a far wider groove than microgroove LPs, and they need a correspondingly larger tip. This 3.0 mil bonded conical is sized for that job, and Audio-Technica lists it as suitable for 78 RPM records across a wide range of eras.

It fits any VM95 body, so a spare VM95 cartridge becomes a dedicated 78 player. Two things change when you fit it: tracking force goes up to 5.0 g, and because SP records carry monaural modulation, Audio-Technica recommends engaging your phono stage's mono setting.
