Talking with the Taxman About Poetry is the third album by Billy Bragg, originally released in September 1986. This reissue comes in a gatefold sleeve and was remastered by John Webber at Air Studios using high-resolution transfers made from master tapes in Bragg's archives. Here Bragg embraced a more fully realised band sound with the help of special guests Kirsty MacColl and Johnny Marr, and production from John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths) and Kenny Jones. It was his first Top 10 album, and gave the world some of his most enduring songs: "Greetings To The New Brunette," his first Top 40 hit; the live favourite "Levi Stubbs' Tears"; and the workers' anthem "There Is Power in a Union."
