Recorded by Tom Wilson in December 1956 in Chicago, Jazz by Sun Ra Vol. 2 was scheduled for release on Transition but never issued, as the label closed its doors in 1957; the music finally appeared in 1968 via Delmark as Sound of Joy. Among the most accessible and enjoyable work in the Sun Ra catalogue, it is now reunited with Vol. 1 as originally planned. This premium historical reissue was mastered by Francois Le Xuan and cut by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio.
