The self-titled Penguin Cafe Orchestra is the band's second studio album, recorded between 1977 and 1980 and released in 1981. By this point the line-up had expanded greatly, with contributions from Simon Jeffes, Helen Liebmann, Steve Nye, Gavyn Wright and many others. In 2021 the album was named among the fifty best albums of 1981 by Spin. This re-press uses the 2008 remaster, is pressed on apricot vinyl, and features cover art by Emily Young.
