Audio-Technica - AT33XEN MC Phono Cartridge

Warm, full-bodied moving coil sound — the approachable all-rounder of Audio-Technica's overhauled AT33x series.

The AT33xEN is part of the first extensive overhaul of the venerable AT33 Series in years, adopting new materials and technology including die-cast zinc at the cartridge base to suppress unwanted resonance, within a composite body of die-cast zinc, aluminum and high-rigidity polymer. The dual moving coil structure uses independent left and right channel coils of PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) wire, driven by a neodymium magnet with permendur yoke.

Where its MicroLinear-equipped siblings chase the last measure of high-frequency detail, the EN pairs a nude elliptical stylus (0.3 x 0.7 mil) with a hard duralumin tapered pipe cantilever, making it an excellent all-around choice that delivers warm, full-bodied audio reproduction across the spectrum.
