Audio-Technica - AT6006R Safety Raiser

An oil-damped tonearm lifter that raises the arm at the end of a side, so a manual turntable stops wearing the stylus in the run-out groove.

A manual turntable left to its own devices will happily circle the run-out groove all night. The AT6006R fixes that without adding electronics: it mounts on the plinth just inside the run-out area with the supplied double-sided tape, and when the tonearm reaches it, the arm brushes a sensitive release antenna that trips a hydraulic lift.

The lift is oil-damped, so the arm rises smoothly rather than being flicked upward. Height is set with an adjustment screw over a 27 to 39 mm range, and two spacers extend that further for taller plinths.

Audio-Technica supports it on the AT-LP5, AT-LP5X, AT-LP7 and AT-LP7X. Other Audio-Technica models cannot take it because of where their tonearms sit; the spacers make it workable on many third-party decks, but fit depends on your arm's height and position.
