João is Bebel Gilberto's collection of songs made famous by her father, João Gilberto, widely regarded as the father of bossa nova. Bebel began singing these songs with him as a small child, and after his passing in 2019 she returns to them here as, in her words, "a love letter to my father." An intimate, deeply personal album of bossa nova standards.
