A great small club date from Ben Webster, recorded at a lounge in Rhode Island, with perhaps a bit more bite and focus than some of his European concerts of the same period. The tracks are short, and Webster gets superb rhythm accompaniment from the trio of Junior Mance on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and Mickey Roker on drums, who push him to some of his boldest solos of the era. Produced by Horst Weber and Matthias Wincklemann; recorded by Tom diPietro live at Pio's Lodge, Rhode Island, February 18, 1964.
