Originally released in 1975, Discreet Music is a key early statement of Brian Eno's ambient aesthetic. The side-long title piece was generated from overlapping tape loops of synthesizer phrases, while the second side reworks Pachelbel's Canon in D into three gradually shifting variations performed by the Cockpit Ensemble.
