Jazz guitarist Calvin Keys is a legend among soul-jazz-funk fans, prized for both his session work and his catalog of classic solo releases. His lean, muscular playing balances sophisticated jazz harmonics with funky R&B and soul grooves. Over his career Keys performed and recorded with Ahmad Jamal, Ray Charles, Pharoah Sanders and Joe Henderson. Originally issued in 1985 on Olive Branch Records, Full Court Press is a showcase of his unique phrasing and groove.
