Charles Tolliver Music Inc - Live At Slugs' Volume 1 - Pure Pleasure LP
$41.99
180 Gram High Quality Pressing — Remastered by Ray Staff at AIR Mastering
Recorded live on May 1, 1970 at Slugs' in New York City, this landmark Strata-East date captures Charles Tolliver's Music Inc. at the height of its powers, with Stanley Cowell on piano, Cecil McBee on bass and Jimmy Hopps on drums. Each member contributes a composition — Tolliver's dark-hued burner "Drought," McBee's contemplative "Felicité" and Cowell's Eastern-tinged epic "Orientale" — for a riveting set of forward-thinking acoustic jazz. A high point of the underrated Music Inc. catalog.
