This unique box set gathers five classic Charlie Parker albums in their original, short-lived 10-inch format — some of the greatest bebop of all time. The five albums are Charlie Parker With Strings (1950), Bird and Diz (1952), Charlie Parker Plays South of the Border (1952), Charlie Parker With Strings, Vol. 2 (1953) and Charlie Parker (1954). Remastered by Alex Abrash (AA Mastering) with faithful reproductions of the David Stone Martin artwork and liner notes on heavy stock, the collector's slipcase also includes a 10" x 10" book featuring liner notes by Ethan Iverson, an essay by David Ritz, and full track-by-track session notes.
