Anthology is an affectionate retrospective of Charlie Watts' work as a jazz bandleader, a reflection of how often the Rolling Stones drummer exercised his jazz muscles between band commitments to build a discography all his own. Drawing on live dates and studio sessions and featuring three previously unreleased tracks, it captures Watts the lifelong jazz superfan paying tribute to his heroes. The collection includes an extended essay by Paul Sexton documenting Watts' jazz career and the albums covered here.
