Recorded in Paris in October 1959 during the final month of Clark Terry's nearly eight-year tenure with Duke Ellington, this small-group date teams the trumpeter with fellow Ellington sidemen Paul Gonsalves (tenor sax), Jimmy Woode (bass) and others, with Raymond Fol on piano. Gonsalves proves the perfect foil as the two trade lines, and the highlight is Terry's upbeat "Serenade to a Bus Seat." Originally cut for French Decca and long nearly impossible to find.
