Recorded right after his long tenure with Ramsey Lewis and before a dozen years with Count Basie, it blends Lewis-style soul-funk with Basie-style swing across Blaxploitation-flavored vamps, trad-jazz, Philly soul, and party anthems. This reissue features a fresh remastering by Mike Milchner of SonicVision.
