Victorialand, Cocteau Twins' fourth album, was released in spring 1986. The largely acoustic, non-percussive record was made by Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie while Simon Raymonde was working on This Mortal Coil's second album, with Dif Juz labelmate Richard Thomas guesting on tabla and saxophone. Building on the guitar shimmer of the band's earlier EPs, it remains one of their most ethereal, atmospheric statements.
