Finding a common musical spirit in the hills above Hollywood, David Crosby (late of the Byrds) and Graham Nash (drawn to Southern California from the Hollies) joined with Stephen Stills (after Buffalo Springfield imploded) to unleash three-part harmonies and an unstoppable creative force. Their first Atlantic sessions in 1969 produced "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Marrakesh Express," "Helplessly Hoping," "Wooden Ships," and "Long Time Gone" — an American folk-rock classic for all time.
