Originally released in 1996, Blackacidevil marked a deliberate stylistic shift, incorporating elements of industrial and dark electronic music. The album features an all-new supporting cast behind vocalist and leader Glenn Danzig, including future Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo, keyboardist Joseph Bishara, and guest contributions from Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell on three tracks.
