David Bowie - Mercury Demos - LP
Limited LP — Replica Tape-Box Packaging with Print, Photo Contact Sheets, and Sleeve Notes
The 'Mercury' Demos are ten early David Bowie recordings captured live in one take to a Revox reel-to-reel machine at Bowie's flat in spring 1969, accompanied by John "Hutch" Hutchinson on guitar and vocals. Made at the request of Mercury Records A&R man Calvin Mark Lee, the session proved key to securing Bowie's deal with the label. It includes the demo of "Space Oddity" presented in its true context for the first time, with the other nine recordings previously unreleased. The set comes in a replica of the original tape box with a print, two photo contact sheets, and sleeve notes by Mark Adams.
