Deafheaven's third album, recorded live to tape in 2015 and produced by longtime collaborator Jack Shirley. Vocalist George Clarke conceived "New Bermuda" as a metaphor for a nebulous new destination in life, an unknown future where things get swallowed into darkness. Heavier and more grounded than its predecessor Sunbather, the album pairs the band's blackened intensity with sweeping melody.
