In the mid-1970s, with Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork unavailable for a Monkees reunion, Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones teamed with songwriters Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart to tour as "The Guys Who Wrote 'Em & The Guys Who Sang 'Em." The quartet signed to Capitol for a self-titled studio album of new material and later cut a live album on tour in Japan. Long out of print, both records are reunited here, remastered from the original master tapes that had been presumed missing for nearly three decades.
