Sunshine Superman is the third album from Donovan, released in the US in September 1966. While still rooted in folk, these recordings mark a distinct change in Donovan's music and represent some of the first psychedelia ever released. A full rock band backs him on many of the songs, and the expanded instrumentation made it one of the first pop albums to extensively use the sitar and other unusual instruments.
