200-Gram Vinyl, Tip-On Gatefold Jacket
Dr. John's Gumbo (1972) is the fifth album by New Orleans singer and pianist Dr. John, the Night Tripper — a loving tribute to the music of his hometown. It gathers spirited interpretations of New Orleans traditionals ("Iko Iko," "Tipitina," "Junko Partner," "Stack-A-Lee") alongside R&B written or played by the likes of Huey "Piano" Smith and Earl King ("Big Chief").
