Raw and largely unedited, it presents the full band stretching out across classics and contemporary pieces – from the saxophone showcase "Rockin' In Rhythm" to excerpts of Suite Thursday – with standout solo turns from Johnny Hodges, Cootie Williams, Paul Gonsalves, Ray Nance, and Cat Anderson. Most of these performances went unreleased for years before surfacing on this two-LP set.
