Gentle sounds and modest gestures were foreign to Earth, Wind & Fire, who in their live shows welded ancient Egyptian mysticism to urban street life. "Spirit" rolls out powerful disco patterns alongside an elegant, finely controlled falsetto, highly cultivated vocals ("Imagination"), carefully balanced ballads ("Burnin' Bush") and an irresistible dancefloor groove ("Saturday Nite") — an extremely wide range of genres brought together in a big-band sound. This Speakers Corner LP was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
