Known as the "King of the Slide Guitar," Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Elmore James brought raw power out of the Delta with strident vocals and a loud, attacking guitar style that profoundly shaped rock, R&B and blues. This 16-track LP gathers his finest releases, from the iconic "Dust My Broom" in 1951 through "Stranger Blues," cut just months before his death in 1963. His unique sound inspired a who's who of guitarists, among them Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones.
