Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy is Elton John's ninth studio album, an autobiographical account of his and Bernie Taupin's early careers. The album's lone single, "Someone Saved My Life Tonight," reached number four on the US Pop Singles chart, and the LP famously debuted at number one in America. It was the last album recorded with his classic band before the lineup changed.
