Analogue Productions Reissue, Pressed at QRP
Released in 1972 as the second of Freddie King's three albums for Leon Russell's Tulsa-based Shelter Records, Texas Cannonball finds the blues giant covering Howlin' Wolf, Lowell Fulson, Leon Russell, Bill Withers and Elmore James. The backing band features many of the musicians who played with Eric Clapton in the 1970s, including Russell on piano and Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass. Recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis in February 1972, this Analogue Productions reissue was among the first titles pressed at Quality Record Pressings.
