Backed by musical partner Brian Jackson and players including Ron Carter, Hubert Laws, and Bernard Purdie, it features standards such as "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," "Home Is Where the Hatred Is," and "Lady Day and John Coltrane." For this special edition celebrating the album's landmark anniversary, the original master tape was cut by Frank Merritt at The Carvery in London as a double 45 RPM record in an all-analogue chain, allowing the music a greater level of fidelity, packaged in the original gatefold sleeve.
