180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl, Pressed at Pallas in Germany
In the early 1940s, J.B. Lenoir worked alongside the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson and Elmore James, drawing influence from Arthur Crudup and Lightnin' Hopkins. After struggling to find professional work in the early 1960s, he was rediscovered by Willie Dixon and recorded this 1965 album with drummer Fred Below — a set inspired by the Civil Rights and Free Speech movements that stands among his most pointed and personal work.
