Recorded at J's own Bisquiteen studio, Elastic Days finds Mascis doing almost all his own stunts — with Ken Miauri on keyboards and a few guest vocal spots from old mates Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession), Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion), and Zoë Randell (Luluc). The gentleness of the approach draws easy comparison to Neil Young's solo work versus his Crazy Horse records, and it still rings true.
