Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show 12/31/1969 captures Jimi Hendrix's electrifying first Band of Gypsys performance. Having just disbanded the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Hendrix assembled the short-lived trio for four historic New Year's concerts at New York's Fillmore East; the famed Band of Gypsys album was edited from the later shows, but this release marks the first time the complete opening set has appeared in any configuration. Mastered by Bernie Grundman, this Hybrid Stereo SACD plays in both CD and SACD players.
