In between his stints with the James Gang and the Eagles, Joe Walsh tackled his second solo studio album, The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get, which became his most successful solo outing. The 1973 LP continued the heavy-and-light rock mix found on his previous release, Barnstorm, and features the smash "Rocky Mountain Way" alongside "Meadows," "Bookends" and more. For this 45 RPM reissue, Analogue Productions had Kevin Gray remaster the album from the original analog tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at Quality Record Pressings with a deluxe Stoughton gatefold tip-on jacket. Spreading the music over four sides with wider-spaced grooves reduces distortion and high-frequency loss for an even richer sonic experience.
