John Coltrane - Coltrane - Analogue Productions LP
$39.99
200 Gram Mono Vinyl, Analogue Productions, Cut by Kevin Gray
Coltrane is John Coltrane's self-titled 1957 album, featuring his first session as a band leader. Coming off his work with the Miles Davis Quintet and his celebrated run with Thelonious Monk, Coltrane chose his own musicians, contributed several compositions and wrote some of the arrangements. Highlights include the Cal Massey-penned, Arabic-influenced "Bakai," the ballad "Violets for Your Furs," and Coltrane originals "Straight Street" and "Chronic Blues." Part of Analogue Productions' Prestige Mono Series, available individually or as part of the set.
