Heart Food (1973) was Judee Sill's second and final album, on which she arranged and conducted all of the orchestration herself. Its songs are nearly as strong as her acclaimed debut, a stellar example of early-'70s singer/songwriter craft that moves from introspective ballads to loping country-flavored rock. Intervention's hybrid CD/SACD is mastered Direct-to-DSD from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio — the same mastering as IR's acclaimed double 45-RPM vinyl reissue.
