Jurassic 5 flexed serious old-to-the-new muscles in the '90s, walking a tightrope between underground and mainstream hip-hop before delivering their stellar 2000 debut full-length, Quality Control. With double the firepower of the average group — two DJs/producers (Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark) and four MCs (Chali 2na, Akil, Marc 7 and Zaakir) — they brought the late-1970s unison-MC style of pioneers like the Fantastic 5 to a new generation, and did so out of Los Angeles. From the title track and "World of Entertainment (W.O.E. Is Me)" to "Jurass Finish First" and the closing DJ workout "Swing Set," it stands as one of the era's most unique and solid full-lengths.
