King Diamond is a heavy metal vocalist renowned for his shock-rock image and his use of soaring falsetto mixed with mid-range vocals. As frontman of both Mercyful Fate and his eponymous band, his work has influenced countless metal acts. Abigail, the second King Diamond album and their first concept record, was originally released in 1987. It tells the story of a murdered illegitimate child's ghost reborn to a young couple who inherit an old mansion and try to destroy Abigail once more.
