Double LP, First Complete Vinyl Edition
French icon Jean-Paul Belmondo and director Philippe de Broca reunited in 1973 for Le Magnifique, a delirious comedy about a pulp spy-novelist and his secret-agent hero Bob Saint-Clar. The film marked the start of a fruitful partnership between de Broca and the great Claude Bolling, a man of jazz and cinema. Spanning mariachi, romantic outbursts, frenzied boleros and James-Bond-ian nods, the lush score establishes Bolling as Henry Mancini's French cousin. This double LP — the first complete vinyl edition — pairs the original 1973 album with previously unreleased tracks and alternate takes from the CAM Sugar archives.
