Produced by Candid co-founder Nat Hentoff at a time when Hopkins was being "rediscovered" by wider audiences — just a month after his Carnegie Hall debut alongside Joan Baez and Pete Seeger. As Hentoff writes, Lightnin' shows "how fresh, personal and surprising the blues still can be." Includes his original liner notes.
