The Blue Mask is the eleventh studio album by Lou Reed, released in 1982. His first album after returning to RCA Records, it pairs frank meditations on marriage and settling down with darker themes of violence, paranoia and alcoholism. Reed and guitarist Robert Quine had their guitars mixed into separate stereo channels, and the band is rounded out by Fernando Saunders on bass and Doane Perry on drums.
