Ludwig Göransson's score for Marvel Studios' Black Panther marks his third collaboration with director Ryan Coogler. To capture the heart and soul of Wakanda, Göransson traveled to Senegal to record with local musicians, then blended West African instrumentation — including the talking drum and sabar drums — with a 132-piece orchestra and a 40-person choir. The result is a singular fusion of traditional African rhythms and modern cinematic scoring.
