Recorded in December 1964, this is the only album ever made by the enigmatic Philadelphia pianist Hasaan Ibn Ali, who composed all seven pieces heard here. Max Roach — who persuaded Atlantic to record him — leads the trio on drums alongside Art Davis on bass, in original, spellbinding music often likened to Bud Powell and Cecil Taylor. This Speakers Corner edition was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
