Merchandise are a trio from Tampa, FL, formed in 2008 from a tight circle of collaborators playing music that loosely falls under the "post-punk" umbrella. Entirely self-recorded and self-produced in the band's Tampa home, Children of Desire — their second formal LP — expands their sonic palette in assured fashion, blending uptempo pop and dance-friendly post-punk with maudlin balladry, krautrock texture, and plenty of noise.
