S&M2 captures the concert event of 2019, when Metallica reunited with the San Francisco Symphony for two nights that opened San Francisco's new Chase Center — their first performances together since the 1999 S&M shows. The set spans 20 songs and over 2.5 hours of music, blending Metallica fan favorites with symphonic arrangements and two classical pieces chosen by Symphony Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas. The audio has been newly remixed and remastered for the home release.
