Decoy is a 1984 album by Miles Davis, recorded in 1983. Keyboardist Robert Irving III shared directing duties with Davis's nephew Vince Wilburn Jr. while Al Foster anchored the tempo and John Scofield pulled the funk toward chromatic abstraction. The result strikes a fine balance between the dominant funk that would soon take over and the jazz tradition, reflected in Scofield's angularities and the renewed power of Miles' playing.
