Freed from the Modern Jazz Quartet, vibraphonist Milt "Bags" Jackson indulged his two great loves — ballads and the blues — across these 1956 sessions at Rudy Van Gelder's studio. Backed by an all-star rotating cast including Lucky Thompson, John Lewis, Barney Kessel, Oscar Pettiford, Percy Heath and Kenny Clarke, he glides through standards by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Jerome Kern plus three originals. This Speakers Corner edition was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
