Nagaoka - JN-P150 Replacement Stylus for MP-150

The genuine Nagaoka replacement stylus for the MP-150 and MP-150H — nude elliptical diamond on a hardened tapered aluminium cantilever.

The MP series is built so that the part which wears is the part you replace. The JN-P150 is not simply a diamond: the assembly carries the stylus, the cantilever and the suspension components, which between them do most of the work of following the groove.

That matters more here than on the models below, because two of the MP-150's defining features live in this assembly. The diamond is mounted nude rather than bonded to a metal shank, cutting mass at the very tip, and the cantilever is a hardened tapered aluminium alloy that stays stiff at the root while staying light at the end that has to move. Fit a generic stylus and you lose both.

It pushes on and pulls off by hand, with no realignment and nothing disturbed in your overhang or azimuth. Tracking force is the MP-150's 1.5 to 2.0 g.
