The genuine Nagaoka replacement stylus for the Jeweltone JT-80BK — nude elliptical diamond on a boron cantilever.

Like the MP series, the Jeweltone cartridges are built so that the part which wears is the part you replace. The JTS-80BK carries the stylus, the cantilever and the suspension, and Nagaoka's own line on it is that it maintains JT-80BK performance.

That claim rests on what is inside the assembly. Both of the things that separate the JT-80BK from the Lapis Blue — the boron cantilever and the nude rather than bonded diamond — are here, not in the cartridge body. A generic aluminium-cantilever replacement would leave you with a JT-80BK that no longer performs like one.

It pushes on and pulls off by hand, with no realignment and nothing disturbed in your overhang or azimuth. Tracking force is the JT-80BK's 1.3 to 1.8 g.
