Released in 1981, Movement is New Order's debut album, made in the difficult aftermath of Ian Curtis's death as the surviving members of Joy Division pressed forward under a new name. With Bernard Sumner stepping up to the microphone alongside Peter Hook and Stephen Morris, the Martin Hannett-produced record offers the first glimpse of the pioneering rock-and-dance hybrid the band would go on to perfect, highlighted by the darkly melodic "Dreams Never End," "Truth," and "Denial."
