A concept album in the Sinatra mold, its twelve songs — drawn from Gershwin, Arlen, Rodgers, Kern, and other gilt-edged songwriters — trace a woman's unwavering devotion to a man. Lee sings in understated, Holiday-influenced performances, supported by Riddle's lush string charts, for a superb pairing of singer, conductor, and arranger.
